Hard Work and Clear Goals: Key to Nicholas’ Success

The School Community congratulates 2018 Year 12 student Nicholas Anfuso who achieved an outstanding and well deserved Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 96.15.  Nicholas has accepted a place at the University of Western Australia (UWA) to study a Bachelor of Arts & Bachelor of Commerce continuing with a direct pathway three year Juris Doctor Law.  Nicholas is planning to take his tertiary qualifications overseas as he is a keen traveller and will explore career opportunities on a world stage.

After his successful school journey, Nicholas is enjoying the sights of Italy and the rich and diverse culture this country has to offer a tourist.  No doubt Nicholas will be enjoying Italy’s cuisine and will take every opportunity to practise his Italian having scored a very high 80% in this ATAR course.  As well as Italy Nicholas is taking advantage of travelling to various countries on the European continent.  After returning from his well deserved travel adventure, Nicholas will settle into life as a ‘uni’ student.

Nicholas commenced at PCACS in 2009 as a Year 3 student.  It became very apparent that he was a curious young boy who was interested in the world around him.  A key strength lay in his ability to write fluently using effective language to capture his reading audience.  Throughout his school years Nicholas demonstrated a consistent approach and was committed to his studies.  He went on to finish Year 12 studying English, Modern History, Mathematics Applications, Italian and Chemistry.  Nicholas was a model student who worked collaboratively with his teachers.  He listened and acted on their advice to achieve improved results particularly during Years 11 and 12.  Nicholas was the top student in English, Modern History and Italian and was awarded the Academic Dux (joint recipient) at the Senior School Presentation Awards in 2018.

Nicholas’ family own a dairy farm and he worked on the farm milking cows and willingly took on responsibilities to support his parents while studying.   A very notable and admirable quality that Nicholas possesses is his love and appreciation for his parents and brothers who continually support his goals.

Nicholas balanced his studies and made sure he enjoyed quality family time, mateship with his friends and had some free personal time to simply chill.

Congratulations Nicholas and best wishes for a bright future.
