Learner Strengths in Junior School

In 2019-2020 the PCACS Junior School introduced the 'Learner Strengths' model in the classroom, which came about from a staff research project into building the capacity of independent life-long learners. The Learner Strengths are attributes and learning dispositions which are crucial for students' educational journeys and beyond school. The Learner strengths clearly articulate what we aim for our students.

As part of this big-picture research, students and families assisted in the Learner Strength development through discussions and surveys.

The Learner Strengths are displayed in every Primary classroom across both campuses and students are acknowledged every assembly when they display these attributes in and out of the class.

The Learner strengths are:

  • STRENGTH OF HEART
  • STRENGTH OF MIND
  • STRENGTH OF SELF
  • STRENGTH OF GROWTH
  • STRENGTH OF COLLABORATION

Today saw a record number of students at the Junior School assembly presented with Learner Strengths certificates.  Despite a very challenging and interrupted year for everyone, our students continue to strive to be the best versions of themselves.
