Duke of Edinburgh's International Award

Peter Carnley Anglican Community School is a Registered Award Unit of The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award, an internationally recognised programme for young people which has operated in Western Australia since 1962.

The Duke of Ed enables students to take full advantage of the diverse opportunities offered by Peter Carnley Anglican Community School. The Award is designed to be an individual challenge based on the unique interests of each participant in the areas of Physical Recreation, Skill, Service and an Adventurous Journey.

The Duke of Ed experience is different for everyone, but some things can be guaranteed. Students who undertake the Award will:

  • be challenged.
  • step outside their comfort zone.
  • have adventures and learn about new passions.
  • help others.
  • build confidence, resilience, and employable skills.
  • discover that they are capable of things they didn't dream were possible.

The Duke of Ed can be used towards a students' achievement, and will appear on their WACE Certificate if they complete the Bronze Award or above.
