Professor Maths

On Friday 1 November  all students from Year 2-6 were invited to take part in a 60-minute Mathematics Incursion.  ‘Professor Maths’ Mr John O’Halloran visited the Wellard Campus where each year group joined him in a range of Mathematics games and activities.  The incursion aims to support student’s social skills, listening skills, following directions, cooperation, communication, and planning ahead.

This year’s topic was the Lucas Set.  The Lucas number series looks at the properties of integers and sequencing through hands-on activities that cater to students of all ability levels.  The activities are designed so that students work together to solve problems as they rotate through the sets.
