Protecting our Science Critters!

AT PCACS, a group of students have been combining their love for Science and animals in an after school Animal Club.

Students have the responsibility of looking after a variety of species including Axolotis (Mexican Walking Fish), Stick Insects, Crazy Crabs and Scorpians.

Their duties include:

  • Cleaning out their tanks and enclosures
  • Ensuring any 'young' are protected by isolating them while they develop
  • Ensuring all animals are fed regularly with the correct foods.

"Animal Club is fun and I love taking care of the animals here because they are so interesting - The Scorpians glow in the dark and the axolotis are like fish that can bretahe air.  It's a fun way to learn about Science and animals." - Samantha
