'Super Powers' @ PCACS

Book Week at PCACS continued today at the Wellard campus with the whole school participating in a Book Week-themed assembly in the Keith Lindbeck Centre.

The stars of the show were the Junior School staff who performed a very entertaining 'Super Powers' skit.

From a cool-as-you-like rap from J 'Diddy' Morris to the 'Magical' wonder of Mr Ross 'Houdini' Griffin.  The audience was immediately captivated.  'Upside down' Mrs Knight and the Year 3 teachers showed creative flair, the Year 6 teachers flipped perfect pancakes and cirque du soleil are now recruiting the Year 5 staff with their incredible juggling act.  This was just a taste of a very entertaining story led by Mrs Hill, Mrs Roberts and Mrs 'Trunchpool' Steel.

The Year 12 students once again set a fine example and introduced all students to the stage, showing us their incredible Book Week costumes and Ms Stringer, Mrs Russell and Ms House took us on a journey with Dr Seuss. 'Oh the places we went!'

Many parents came to support their children for the assembly and our P&F hosted coffee and cake following the assembly.

Author Kate McCaffre spent time with a number of students in the undercover area, talking about her books and sharing an insight into the world of publishing and writing.

Finally, after the lunch break, all Junior School students picked up a book and ventured down to the oval to enjoy some reading time in the sunshine with their teachers.  Book Week continues to be one of the highlights for our School and is an important community-building event.
