Welcome to Term 3
Oh, how the year is flying by! Here we are in Term 3 already. At my Principal’s Assembly at the start of term, I spoke to the Year 2 to 12 students about the importance of reading their reports and setting new PBs for the Semester. I hope families had a chance to read the reports with an eye on the next steps. For the Year 12s, this final period at school is when the hard work over many years comes to fruition. They are now on the final push to finish well. For everyone else, the steps to Year 12 are well underway. I spoke of the building blocks for success and the importance of reaching for opportunities and making the most of every day at school.
Each year, you find out more about what you are good at,
how to learn more about things you’re intrigued by,
how to get through things you don’t really like,
how to prepare well for assessments, assignments and tests,
how to be a good friend and classmate,
how to play games, sports, instruments,
how to design, create, make, do well, prepare for the future.
We have an event-filled calendar planned for this Term. House competitions, Athletics carnivals, Maths competitions, Operation Op shop, the Anglicare Sleep Over, Science Week, Book Week, World Peace Games, music events – One Big Voice, WA Schools Festival, It Takes a Spark Conference, finishing with Arts and Technologies Week and the most anticipated Peter Carnley’s Got Talent!
