Week 4 - Term 3
Term 3 continues to bring wonderful opportunities to celebrate and enjoy the spirit of PCACS life. This week the Senior School celebrated Semester 1 successes with the awarding of Academic Excellence and Personal Best Awards along with Duke of Edinburgh and Australian Mathematics Competition Awards. In Junior School this week we celebrated the successes of our Junior School Interschool Cross Country team along with the Learner Strength Awards.
ASA Conference
Schools from across Australia came together for the Annual Anglican Schools Australia Conference in Canberra last week. With COVID interruptions, this was our first in person Conference since 2019. With the theme of Re-emergence we had the opportunity to explore the unique attributes of Anglican Schools, our strength in creating inclusive, connected, values-based communities. We explored the enhancement of well-being in our schools and the importance of rebuilding connections after COVID.
Operation Op Shop and Anglicare WA School Sleep Out
Today we came together for Operation Op Shop. Raising awareness of the valuable work of Anglicare WA, we held a pop-up op-shop, our own soup kitchen and everyone dressed in op-shop outfits. Some creative and imaginative outfits formed part of a fabulous cat-walk parade. Tonight three brave staff will accompany the 29 students who have volunteered to stay overnight at Optus Stadium. The students will explore scenarios faced by homeless people and will be sleeping on the cold concrete promenade of the stadium to glimpse the challenges faced by homeless people in WA. It certainly will be freezing tonight as they sleep on cardboard on the cold concourse at Optus Stadium. If you would like to make a contribution online please follow this LINK
The focus of fundraising is to support the life-changing work of the Anglicare WA most particularly the Street Connect Bus. Thank you to our Service Learning Coordinator, Mrs Katie Frampton for organising these significant service learning experiences.
God bless.
