Week 10
If you had asked me a few months ago what Term 3 was going to be like, I may well have had a different answer. It has been extraordinary for us here in WA to be able to work within the current restrictions to provide a full calendar of Term 3 events. Term 3 is my favourite term and this one has been no exception. Carnivals always feature at this time of year, with the ELC Tabloid Sports, Junior School and Senior School Athletics carnivals. I thank the P&F for their continued support of the School with canteens at the carnivals.
Kwinana Industries Council (KIC) iMen Programme
As members of the Kwinana Industries Council Education Partnership, we have the opportunity for students to participate. They gain knowledge of local industry and the employment opportunities available. The content of the programmes give students exposure to a range of pathways into industry through work experience, mentoring and site visits. We recently had six Year 10 boys complete the iMen Programme. I attended the Presentation Ceremony last week and was very impressed by the caliber of our students and the feedback we received about their participation. This experience gives our students the opportunity to consolidate their subject choices for 2021.
Arts and Technologies Week
Arts and Technologies Week required some rethinking this year with a new format for the Arts and Technologies Exhibition Opening on Friday evening. We took the opportunity to explore venues on our grounds and discovered a new use for the courtyard adjacent to the KLC. It was wonderful to see so many parents, students, alumni and community members join us for the evening, enjoying Carnley’s Cuppas, the concert and exhibition. Our guest artist was Mr Jordan Andreotta, an artist who is known for his minimal colour schemes and simple yet captivating designs. His portrait of Sister Flora, in the coveted Lester Prize, the people choice award in 2019. Jordan is not only renowned for his artwork but also as an educator who inspires young people to experience the joy of creativity through art. Thank you to our exhibitors and performers, and to our talented Arts staff for their hard work in bringing the exhibition together. Arts week continued this week with activities including The Twenties Music Concert and Peter Carnley’s Got Talent.

PCACS Neighbours
I ask that our parents are respectful of our local residents and you do not park or wait in areas that block the access to their houses nor park in areas not marked as parking bays.
