The End of Year is in Sight
It is with excitement and trepidation that I view the weeks ahead in the PCACS Calendar. As the final weeks of the School year approach, the calendar is full of end of year events both traditional and additional. As the ATAR exams draw to a close, we wish the Year 12s well as they await their results. The Year 10 and 11 students are now in their exam period and I wish all our students well as they prepare for final assessments.
The Transition Day is a significant marker of time and last week we welcomed the 2021 Year 7s, many of whom are new to PCACS. On the same day the Junior School students stepped up to experience the Year above. It was delightful to host the Year 1 students from Calista as they prepare to move to Wellard in 2021. I was impressed by the way our students welcomed all who were new to PCACS.
The Year 9s are now preparing for the final stages of The Rite Journey with their camp and Home Coming ceremony in the coming weeks. The Year 10s are readying themselves for Work Experience to equip them with insights into their chosen work placements. With the Year 11s missing out on their camp and River Cruise earlier in the year, they also head out for a week of experiences throughout the city including visits to the Universities.
Preparations for Awards events, ELC Nativity, Carols on the Green and the end of year excursions are well underway. Strap yourselves in, it’s going to be a busy few weeks.
Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day is an important occasion in the PCACS calendar as we come together as a community to remember the sacrifices made by those men and women who have served our country. We held our own service in the Keith Lindbeck Centre last Wednesday morning. I thank the cadets and our choir for their contribution to the service. We honour all those who have died in war, and hold with high respect all those who are still serving in regions of conflict around the world.
Lest we forget.
Volunteers and Parents & Friends
Our School is greatly enriched by the hours of time donated by our many volunteers. I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation for the parents and family members who have provided assistance in a range of ways including helping in classrooms and on excursions, co-curricular and social activities, the library, canteen, uniform shop and coaching teams. The P&F have been busy in these past weeks providing the canteens at the sports carnivals and making preparations for the food trucks for the Carols on the Green event this year. To our volunteers and P&F, a heartfelt thank you from everyone at PCACS for your generosity and commitment.
God Bless
Ms Felicity House
