Welcome to Week 2.
The new school year has started well, with a great sense of excitement at both Calista and Wellard. It’s wonderful to welcome lots of new students and staff this year, with new students in every Year group from Pre Kindergarten right through to Year 12. We start the year with 1291 students and 163 staff.
A special welcome to Ms Kierin Janes as she steps into the role of Head of Junior School. Ms Janes has been part of our PCACS family since 2008 and her experience has led to a seamless transition into the role. We wish her well as she leads the Junior School into the next phase of development, masterfully blending tradition with new ideas. We also welcome to the role of Business Manager, Mrs Kumesh Haripersad. Mrs Haripersad is an experienced Business Manager with school and industry experience. She is very much looking forward to all aspects of the role, especially the design of the new Master Plan and associated capital development.
Parent Information sessions have been held at Calista and for Year 7 families this week, with Junior School coming up next week. Junior School students in Year 2-5 will commence their swimming lessons next week and Senior School students aspiring for Student Council positions will deliver their speeches.
It was a pleasure to host The Reverend David Jones for an information session on the next Samoa Service Learning opportunity. Selected students join a larger group of students from ASC Schools across Australia to spend time at All Saints School in Samoa during the holidays. Students in Year 9, 10 or 11 who are interested in exploring this opportunity further can see Mrs Melanie Hunt.

The Year 12 Prefects and Year 6 Captains were commissioned into their role as the Student Leaders at the Principal’s Assembly in Week 1.
The Year 12 students were also recognised as the Seniors of the school. I wish all the leaders well as they make plans for the year ahead.

Year 12 Ball
On Friday 2 February, our Year 12 students gathered at The Duxton Hotel for the Year 12 Ball. A glorious night of dining and dancing, the Ball proved to be a magnificent milestone in their final year of school, captured with formal photos as well as fun photos in the photo booth. Thank you to Year 12 Coordinator, Mrs Katie Frampton and her team for organising a wonderful evening for our Year 12 students.
PCACS Strategic Plan 2024 - 2028
I was pleased to share with the community the PCACS Strategic Plan 2024-2028. This document was launched at the Principal's Assembly last week and was the result of a year long project involving the Executive team, staff, students, School Council and the ASC. The result is bespoke and nuanced plan that captures who we are and our aspirations.
School Mission
To challenge and inspire a community of purposeful learners who are engaged, caring, connected and aspirational.
Our Values

The Strategic Plan is available for you to view on our website Strategic Plan 2024-2028.

After playing a significant role in the smooth start up to the year, we wish Mr Adam Halliday all the best as he departs on well-deserved Long Service Leave next week.
