Welcome to Week 4
Term 1 has required some creative thinking to re-invent activities and events. This week the Year 5 students enjoyed adventure and leadership days in replacement of the overnight camping experience. Forest Edge were more than pleased to take the three class groups out to enjoy the highlights of the campsite. The Senior School House Swimming Carnival was replaced by a swim meet to conduct swim trails for selection into a modified ACC Carnival. Co Curricular began with everything from study clubs to Lego robotics and ‘build your own guitar’. Chapel and Assemblies are being broadcast into classrooms so that we can celebrate as a community in class and tutor ‘pods’. Keeping a sense of togetherness and community at this time is very important and I thank the staff for re-shaping the delivery of so many activities for the benefit of our students.
Traffic Around School
Thank you to all parents and carers for responding promptly to the new traffic protocols. The past few days have seen significant differences to the flow of traffic along Wellard Road and the roundabout. The Kiss and Go will be coned off until close to 3.10pm. Students are released from classes at 3.10pm so please do not enter the grounds prior to 3.10pm unless you intend to park. It’s best to give the students time to leave the classroom and make their way to the Kiss and Go. By 3.15pm they will be waiting for you as you drive through.
The Year 2 students are being released a little earlier to be collected from the area near the Uniform Shop. This is designed to ease the traffic and we ask that you respect this protocol and leave the area free for Year 2 parents to collect their children.
Another reminder for Abingdon Crescent is to leave the Bus Bays free for the buses to enter and exit. The Bus Bay is not a parking or pick up zone. There are still places on the buses should you like to utilise the three bus services we offer. Please find attached the traffic protocol which was sent out to all families this week.
Go well everyone!
God bless
Ms Felicity House
