Aquatic adventures are a theme at PCACS at the moment. The cast of The Little Mermaid are busy rehearsing for opening night in Week 8. The Year 9 Rite Journey programme was launched with the Calling and Departure ceremony last week on the beautiful Shoalwater foreshore. The annual Year 10 Geography excursion took the students to Mandurah estuary to study wetland ecosystems. Miss Lister’s Year 1 class delighted us when they sang Octopus’s Garden at the Calista Assembly. The Senior School Swimming champions and runners up were awarded their medals and certificates at the Senior School Assembly this week and the Junior School enjoyed a fun carnival at the Rockingham Aquatic Centre. Thank you to all the parents who could join us to celebrate these events and milestones.
Camps
Thank you to all the staff involved in the Year 5 and 7 Camps, with a special mention to the parent volunteers who joined the Year 5 Camp. Camps are an important part of the PCACS Journey. The experiences and interactions outside of the classroom help to develop new relationships and deepen existing bonds. Fun activities, teamwork challenges and team sports help build confidence, promote independence and assist with problem solving skills. I enjoyed spending time with the Year 7s. I was very impressed by the students and their willingness to give everything a go and grateful for the staff and volunteers for giving up their time for our students to enjoy these rich learning experiences.
P&F
The P&F Committee have been busy planning Term One events. There will be an impressive turnout tonight for the P&F Sundowner at King Road Brewery. This is an excellent initiative and a superb opportunity for parents to get together. Next Friday the famous Junior School Disco will be held in the Moortang Mia auditorium. Thank you to the P&F and the generous volunteers who will bring a night of fun and dancing for the Junior School students.
God bless.
