The last few weeks have been a time of giving and celebrating. We have participated in the ACC F Division Swimming Carnival, hosted the P&F Junior School Discos, celebrated Harmony Week, watched our students shine in the School Production of The Little Mermaid and come together for Crazy Hair and Funky Sock Day with the World’s Greatest Shave and Bandanna Day included.
Harmony Week
We celebrated Harmony Week across the Calista and Wellard Campuses with class activates and dress up days. Also, a wonderful opportunity to live our value of Belonging – welcoming everyone and celebrating difference.
Our students and staff chose to wear orange or an outfit that represents their cultural background. Australia is one of the most multicultural nations in the world and this week the nation celebrates the rich tapestry created by the contribution of so many cultures. The successful integration of cultures is based on the values of inclusivity, respect and belonging. At PCACS, Harmony Week we recognise the importance of encouraging a sense of belonging, being inclusive and respecting others.
PCACS is a richly diverse school and this week in particular we celebrate all of the cultures and traditions that make this such a special place to be. At PCACS families from all cultural backgrounds are welcomed, respected and celebrated. We are an inclusive, inviting and respectful community.

PCACS had a squad of 56 swimmers attend the ACC Interschool Swimming Carnival in Week 7. A huge congratulations to Niamgh Harrington – U14 Girls Champion, and Oliver Hunt – U16 Boys Champion. Some wonderful results for the team. Thank you, Mr Simon Bell, Mr Chris Harry and the staff involved on the day.
P&F Junior School Discos
Thank you to P&F President Mrs Amanda Lee and the 2024 Committee for the recent Junior School Discos held at the Wellard Campus. Moortang Mia was a sea of groovy shirts and pretty party dresses as the Kindergarten to Year 6 students danced their time away.
Thank you to our students Piper Smith, Mia Anderson and Maia Kavanagh-Shorter who DJ’d for the event and for the student’s who opened Carnley’s Cuppas with Mrs Hunt for the evening. Thank you to the Junior School staff for their support and attendance.
Crazy Hair and World’s Greatest Shave
Thank you to the students and staff who volunteered and raised funds for The World’s Greatest Shave. Four students and one staff member bravely had their hair chopped or shaved. As a collective the team raised over $5,400.
The YMAD and Anglicare Ambassador’s ran a highly successful day in support of the Leukemia Foundation with total of nearly $7,600 donated including the Shave proceeds.
School Production – The Little Mermaid
After months of rehearsals our cast and crew wowed the audience last Wednesday night with the Opening of The Little Mermaid production at Koorliny Arts Centre. Congratulations to Ms Walter, Miss Jones and the cast and crew for a spectacular performance.
Easter Service
It is fitting to end the Term with an Easter Service, where we gather to reflect on the meaning of Easter. The Calista students gathered for their Easter Service on Tuesday. The Year 2 to 12 students gathered in the KLC this morning where The Reverend Doctor Eleanor O’Donnell, Director of Anglican Identity from the ASC presided over our Easter Service.
Principal’s Sabbatical
Now that I am in my eighth year as Principal, it is time for me to take some sabbatical. Sabbatical is designed to provide time for the Principal to refresh and reflect. I am pleased that Mr Steve Wynhorst will be taking on the role of Acting Principal for the duration. I wish Mr Wynhorst all the best as he takes over for Term 2 and I look forward to returning in Term 3.
As the term draws to an end, I wish you all a joyous Easter and safe, restful holiday. For those of our families travelling, I wish you safe travels.
God bless.
Ms Felicity House
