Welcome to Term 2
There is great energy and hope in the air as we start Term 2. With the easing of restrictions we are returning to PCACS life as normal. It has been so delightful to host our Chapel Services in the KLC and at Calista this week in the usual way rather than on a screen. The sense of community created by students coming together and the joy of witnessing expressive faces is such a delight. We are now rebuilding our calendar to bring PCACS life back to normal.
This term we celebrate Founders’ Day and plans are well underway for a fitting 15th Anniversary celebration. You will find a series of intriguing Facebook posts of images for past years, both recent and from the start in 2007 and even scenes from 2006 when the site was blessed. With the Chapel build coming to a close, we are in discussions with the Archbishop to dedicate our Chapel. The Chapel will transform the way we worship and gather at PCACS. There will be opportunities for many School events and activities to be held in the Chapel in addition to Chapel services, such as music, drama, parent meetings and incursions. I am looking forward to showing everyone this beautiful and sacred space.
This term we welcome some new members to our PCACS family. Several new students joined us for the start of term from Pre Kindergarten through to Year 8. We welcome Mrs Alanna Hook, Ms Louise Wissmann, Miss Chelsea Zoutman and Mrs Emily Mills to Wellard and Mrs Jody Frecklington and Mrs Alysha McDonald to Calista.
Mr Alan Chesshire joins our grounds staff and Mrs Wendy Simms joins our Administration team. We farewell Mrs Stephanie Reed as her family take up a new location with the Navy. We wish all these staff and students well as they settle into their new roles.
All the best to all those celebrating Mother’s Day on Sunday, for those who are unable to be with loved ones, I hope you find a way to honour the mother figures in your life in a meaningful way.
God bless
Ms Felicity House
