As we end Week 4, the School has fallen into a lovely momentum as the PCACS calendar is filled with events and activities. Chapel Services and Assemblies are back in their normal cycles and the students are enjoying being able to gather, play, learn together and celebrate without restrictions.
Thank you to all the parents who were able to join us for the Year 7 to 10 Parent Teacher interviews. These were held in the KLC for the first time and feedback was very positive. Interschool sport has resumed with RKAS, and the Year 7s competed in the ACC Super Series Sports Carnival. Friday we held our first full House Carnival for the year with all the Senior School taking part in the House Cross Country competition. Co-curricular is now in full swing with inspiring offerings right across the School. Service Learning has also resumed with our Anglicare Ambassadors participating in the Anglicare Advocacy Master Class.
As we progress towards Founders’ Day, we are planning a day full of activities both ceremonial and fun. Founders’ Day this year will be very special as we celebrate our 15th Anniversary of the School. A number of special guests will be joining us for the Founders’ Day Service including Archbishop Kay Goldsworthy AO, Reverend Peter Laurence OAM and our School Patron, Dr Peter Carnley AC. Founders’ Day will be celebrated on Friday 17 June and parents are welcome to attend the Founders’ Day Service at 10.00am. The 2023 Scholarship recipients will be announced during the service and we will reflect on the first 15 years of the School.
You may have seen the signage for the Grace Chapel go up last week. This is a sure sign that the construction is coming to an end. The finishing touches are going into the Chapel and the landscaping is under way. The Grace Chapel will be shared by the Anglican Parish of Kwinana and they are equally excited to make plans for their Sunday Services and other church activities in this inspiring new building. The beauty of School and Parish is that the building responds to the ebbs and flows of both groups. The School will use it during the week and parish after hours. The Grace Chapel will be consecrated by Archbishop Kay Goldsworthy AO on Tuesday 21 June, a fitting addition to our 15th Anniversary events. I’m looking forward to everyone seeing inside the Chapel and enjoying services, events and gatherings. Grace Chapel will be an extraordinary addition to life at PCACS. The Year 12s are already excited that they will be the first Valedictorians to celebrate in the new Chapel.
Go well everyone.
God bless
Ms Felicity House
