Founders' Day
Founders' Day is celebrated in mid-June to recognise the Blessing of the School site in June 2006, with the School commencing in 2007. Each year, we gather for a Founders' Day Service and a day of activities to mark the occasion. It is an extraordinary gift to be named after a living School Patron, The Most Reverend Dr Peter Carnley AC and to have him attend on this special day and serve as an inspiration for our whole School community.
It was also a special honour to have two House patrons in attendance for Founders' Day. Both The Reverend Peter Laurence OAM, as CEO of the Anglican Schools Commission at the time the School was conceived, and Keith Lindbeck, as Chair of the Steering Committee and Foundation Chair of Council, were present when the site of the School was blessed. Also in attendance at our Founders' Day service were His Worship The Mayor Peter Feasey – City of Kwinana, current and past School Council Members, the President of the Parents and Friends Association, Mrs Amanda Lee, the Anglican Parish of Kwinana and our 2024 Scholarship families.
As part of the Founders' Day Service, we announced our Scholarship recipients. Congratulations to the following students who were awarded Scholarships for 2025:

I congratulate them on reaching these milestones and for their contribution to the School.
Wonderful student achievements
It is with great pleasure that I share the achievements of two PCACS students.
Takunda Bere (Year 11) attended the zero2hero Camp Hero Leadership program over the April holidays, and shortly after, the organisation's CEO invited Takunda to make a speech at the Heroes Lunch, a fundraising ball held last Friday. Takunda was an outstanding representative of the School. Although presenting to corporate executives at the Crown Ballroom was daunting, she represented herself and the School with great pride and joy. The link to her speech is here. Well done, Takunda!
Tawana Mawoko (Year 12 – Laurence House Captain) has been selected to represent the State electorate of Kwinana in the annual Youth Parliament. He has already had one training meeting on parliamentary practices with one more to go, and then the Youth Parliament meets from 7 to 12 July in the State Parliament. This is the most senior youth advisory body to the WA Government. Tawana already has experience in representing the youth voice as he is also a member of the Kwinana Youth Advisory Council (the majority of KYAC are past or current PCACS students!).
As part of his selection to be the youth member for Kwinana, Tawana has met with Premier Roger Cooke to get to know him and get advice on his role in Parliament. They talked about taking advantage of opportunities, staying humble, and why the kids south of the river are always better than kids from the north! Good luck as a member of the Youth Parliament, Tawana.
Spirit Week
As part of the week leading to the Founders' Day service, the Year 12 Prefects organise Spirit Week activities to honour our House Patrons. On each House Day, the students considered the contribution of their House Patron and were invited to join in some fun lunchtime activities. The competition Family (House) Feud and karaoke dancing sessions in the Auditorium were a great hit with both Junior and Senior School students. Thank you to the House Captains for this wonderful week of celebration.
Term 2 – Week 10
As the term draws to a close, and we look forward to the extended mid-year break, it is time to reflect on our accomplishments. The formal recognition of these accomplishments can be found in the Semester reports that will soon be released. Parents and students should review these interim reports and use them to celebrate strengths and find growth opportunities. The comments and attributes are as crucial as the interim grade for subjects and allow for the setting of personal best goals. I encourage all families to use the reports as an opportunity for reflection and goal setting.
Term 2 has featured many engaging activities. We have participated in Young Writers' Workshops, Lightning Carnivals, Inter School Cross Country, Netball and Basketball Championships, WinterSports carnivals, Student Leadership forums, the Anglicare Ambassadors Launch, Kwinana Industries Council events, Music Recitals, Parent Teacher meetings, Junior School Open Classrooms and Constable Care incursions. It has been a delight to see our students embracing all the opportunities offered at PCACS in our 17th year.
The Highlights from Term Two are captured in this VIDEO. We hope you enjoy it.
